Position Title: Chief Development Officer (CDO)

Organization: Club Z

Location: Hybrid (Remote and On-site at any of our US locations: NY, CA, OR, CO, FL, NC, NJ)

About Us: Club Z is an American based Zionist organization that is dedicated to empowering Jewish teens through meaningful programs and initiatives that foster personal growth, leadership, and community involvement. With seven locations across the United States, we offer a hybrid work environment to accommodate our diverse and dynamic team.

Position Summary: 

A boutique entrepreneurial organization focused on Zionist education for Jewish teens, is seeking a Chief Development Officer to build the organization's fundraising infrastructure with donors and foundations. The Chief Development Officer is a key member of the leadership team, responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gift prospects and donors. This role focuses on building and managing a portfolio of gift prospects capable of making significant contributions to the organization's mission and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Donor Cultivation and Solicitation:

    • Develop and implement strategies for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gift prospects and donors.
    • Conduct face-to-face meetings, presentations, and other engagement activities to build relationships with potential donors.
    • Prepare proposals and presentations for gift solicitations.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership and board members to develop and execute personalized solicitation strategies.

 Portfolio Management:

    • Manage a portfolio of gift prospects, ensuring timely and effective cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of donor interactions and prospect management activities in the donor database.
    • Monitor and report on the progress of gift fundraising activities, including tracking metrics and outcomes.

 Stewardship:

    • Ensure donors receive appropriate recognition and reports on the impact of their gifts.
    • Plan and execute donor stewardship activities, including events, personalized communications, and impact reports.
    • Foster long-term relationships with major donors, ensuring their continued engagement and support.

 Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work closely with the leadership team to align gift strategies with overall fundraising goals and initiatives.
    • Work with the marketing team to ensure campaigns are effective.
    • Collaborate with program staff to understand funding needs and develop compelling cases for support.
    • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including donors, board members, volunteers, and staff.

 Research and Analysis:

    • Conduct prospect research to identify potential gift donors and gather information on their philanthropic interests and giving capacity.
    • Analyze donor data and trends to inform major gift strategies and identify opportunities for growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree. Advanced degree is welcomed. 
  • Results-oriented professional with a proven track record.
  • At least four years of relevant fundraising experience within the Jewish and pro-Israel world. Knowledge of Israel, the Jewish community environment, and Jewish rituals and practices is highly desirable. 
  •  Broad knowledge and understanding of development/fundraising concepts and appropriate solicitation techniques. 
  • Talent for interacting with influential constituents and diverse groups.
  • Strong, hands-on project management and implementation skills, alongside organizational skills and the ability to multitask. 
  • Strong communication skills: written, verbal, interpersonal, and otherwise. 
  • Ability to occasionally work non-traditional hours based on operational needs.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and demonstrate integrity. 
  • Ability to adapt, respond to various situations and show grace under pressure. 
  • Entrepreneurial thinking. 
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and decision-making ability. 
  • Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally to meet donors and attend events.
  • Strong skills in Google Suite products 

Compensation:

  • Salary will be commensurate with experience
