The Rabbinical Assembly, the international membership organization of Conservative rabbis is hiring an Administrative Assistant to primarily support our career center, as well as our development and accounting departments. This person will be a point of first contact between our membership and our professional staff, as well as serving a key role supporting vital back-end organizational structures.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of and commitment to the RA’s mission of supporting and strengthening our 1650 rabbis worldwide, excellent communication skills and attention to detail, and ability to prioritize, balance multiple projects, and take initiative. 

Responsibilities include:

Career Center (50%):

  • Manage the Career Center dashboard, including reviewing new accounts and pending job postings 
  • Maintain job boards
  • Provide technical support for rabbis and congregations using the Career Center website
  • Run weekly and annual reports from the Career Center online platform
  • Answer calls and provide support for Director of Career Services

Development Department (20%):

  • Maintain records of pledges and donations made to all campaigns
  • Update donor database, track donation history, create donor lists for targeted appeals, and generate reports on giving trends
  • Send personalized acknowledgement letters to donors

Accounting Department (20%)

  • Update member demographic information and accounts receivable/payable into accounting software (QuickBooks)
  • Maintain vendor contact information
  • General filing of invoices, receipts, bank statements, and other financial documents
  • Monthly mailing of member invoices
  • Annual mailing of member dues declarations
  • Other tasks as assigned

General Administration (10%)

  • Serve as point of first contact for members and public including answering phones and executing correspondence
  • Responding to queries and requests by members
  • Maintaining membership and other databases while ensuring data accuracy
  • Occasional on-call weekend availability for emergency communications


Requirements:

BA, administrative/office experience
Highly organized and detail oriented
Ability to manage and execute numerous projects simultaneously
Excellent writing and communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Flexible and willing to work as part of a team
Facility with content management systems a plus
Knowledge of Hebrew, passion for Jewish life and culture a plus

Salary Range: $50-$55k
