Position Overview
In 2026, the Edlavitch DCJCC will celebrate its 100th year in our building at the corner of 16th and Q Streets. To celebrate this momentous occasion, we are launching our Centennial Campaign and celebration: a once-in-a-lifetime multi-year fundraising campaign and series of events that reflect on our past and look ahead to our future.
Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Institutional Advancement (Campaign Director), the Campaign Coordinator provides day-today support for the planning, organization, and
implementation of the Centennial Campaign. The coordinator is also responsible for helping to design, implement, coordinate, and manage an institution-wide comprehensive donor relations and stewardship system that appropriately and consistently promotes interaction with and recognition of donors at all levels.
This is a new position, and we are seeking someone who is incredibly detail-oriented, organized, and efficient who can help keep our professional and volunteer team focused and on-task so we can achieve our fundraising and stewardship goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Campaign Support
• Assisting in all facets of the campaign management – coordinating meetings for campaign leadership and divisions, preparation of agenda and materials, taking notes at meetings, and organizing follow-up assignments and activities.
• Tracking all campaign activity including recording diligent notes about engagement with prospects throughout the campaign lifecycle and producing reports to be utilized by campaign leadership and staff.
• Supporting the internal staff to ensure that every facet of the campaign is progressing, each staff member knows and has resources to pursue their campaign goals each week.
• Working with the Campaign Manager to coordinate briefing meetings to prepare volunteers for solicitations, customizing materials for visitors to bring to meetings, and capturing data from each meeting for appropriate follow up.
• Providing administrative support including proactive calendar management, Salesforce data input and report generation, file organization, pipeline management, etc.
• Support donor correspondence and gift acknowledgements, special mailings, preparation of donor packets and proposals, and creation of reports and presentations.
• Support campaign-related events, together with other EDCJCC staff, including invitations, tracking RSVPs, coordinating with vendors, and other event-planning related tasks.
• Assist with prospect research by utilizing internet and subscription research tools/resources to locate, analyze and interpret financial capacity and propensity.
STEWARDSHIP
• Helping establish and maintain an internal donor recognition program inclusive of lifetime, legacy, annual, programmatic, and Centennial giving,
• Establish and maintain information-tracking process regarding acknowledgment, recognition, ongoing communications, and continued cultivation for past and current donors across all divisions of the EDCJCC.
• Work with the Institutional Advancement staff to steward donors via the delivery of targeted
communications and personal outreach.
• Create, plan, and execute all aspects of stewardship events for donors and prospective donors; and support other events needs as well
• Create opportunities for donors to observe and learn about the work of the EDCJCC through working with other departments to ensure opportunities for artistic and programmatic access that align with donors’ needs and interests.
• Develop the process for extending strategic and regular invitations to donors and prospects for meetings and events.
• Provide high-level support to ensure effective donor stewardship at fundraising events, including but not limited to the annual Gala, Theater J and JxJ special events, days of service, and more.
• Support the publicity of major gifts and donors to include appropriate recognition in print and digital materials.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum three years of nonprofit development experience.
• Organized and efficient, capable of managing multiple projects with competing priorities to
the highest standards in a timely manner while remaining flexible and having fun.
• Experience with all facets of event planning.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communications skills.
• Excellent research, writing and editing skills (writing sample will be requested).
• Accurate and impeccable attention to detail.
• Proactive self-starter requiring minimal supervision but also works well on a team.
• Experience working with high level volunteers and donors.
• Prospect research and data analysis experience, and an understanding of financial terminology and wealth indicators to assess income, assets, and philanthropic activity strongly preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office. Sales Force experience is highly preferred.
