Temple Etz Chaim is a warm Reform congregation in Franklin, MA with a growing and innovative Religious School that meets in person on Sunday mornings from 9:30am to 12noon, with online Hebrew tutoring during the week.
For the 2025-2026 school year that runs from September 2025 to May 2026, we are looking to hire two online Hebrew Tutors, two in person Religious School teachers, and an in person Hebrew Specialist. Salary ranges from $40 to $60 per hour depending on experience. Experience suporting students with diverse learning styles is preferred. For more details regarding each position, please see below.
Hebrew Specialist
The Hebrew Specialist should be at least proficient in conversational and written modern Hebrew. The Specialist will spend time with each of the classes on Sunday mornings. The Specialist will create immersive experiences for the students using the Hebrew Through Movement methodology. With older grades (4-6), the Specilialist will also reinforce the Hebrew learning that is happening during the week with a tutor using Hebrew curriculums provided by Shalom Learning.

Online Hebrew Tutors
Tutors meet individually with 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students on Zoom. The tutoring sessions will take place on weekday afternoons or evenings at times mutually convenient for the tutors and families. The tutors will work with students on decoding Hebrew and learning Shabbat prayers. Tutors will have access to two comprehensive Hebrew curriculums through the ShalomLearning platform.
This position requires knowledge of Hebrew prayers and proficiency with Hebrew reading. Experience teaching Hebrew is preferred but not required; experience supporting students with diverse learning styles is a plus.
