The Ramaz School is seeking a Lower School Judaic Studies Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year for Kindergarten – Fourth Grade.
The ideal candidate for this position is:
• Passionate about fostering spiritual, intellectual and personal growth in young students and a deep appreciation for Jewish tradition and culture.
• Focused on Instilling in students a love for the Hebrew language and a deeper appreciation for Jewish heritage, fostering a nurturing and respectful classroom atmosphere.
• Self-reflective, open to learning from feedback from colleagues, administrators, and students.
• Committed to professional growth and continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver engaging, student-centered Judaic studies lessons that are developmentally appropriate and aligned with Ramaz’s educational philosophy.
• Integrate Torah, Jewish history, Hebrew language, and Jewish culture into all units of study ensuring comprehensive, hands-on, interactive learning experiences for students.
• Prepare and implement daily lesson plans tailored to grades K-4, ensuring each is engaging, informative, and suited to various learning styles.
• Assess student progress through varied methods and provide constructive feedback to encourage academic and personal growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience and contribute to a supportive learning community.
• Communicate regularly with parents, keeping them informed and engaged in their child’s progress.
• Participate in professional development and continuous learning opportunities to grow as an educator.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Judaic Studies, Education, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum three years of experience in full-time post-high school Torah study
• Strong command of the Hebrew language (written and spoken).
• Ability to work with students in diverse group settings, using multiple teaching methods.
• Good communication skills and a commitment to keeping parents informed and engaged in their child’s learning.
