The Marks JCH of Bensonhurst, known as the JCH, is a center of community life in Brooklyn, rooted in Jewish values and fostering an inclusive environment. We help at every life stage, providing critical services that lift people out of poverty, as well as innovative programing that educates and inspires our community members. The Marks JCH is a full-scale human service agency, providing social services, older adult services, resettlement support, job placement in addition to being a Jewish community center offering children’s, youth, family, and cultural programs. Marks JCH prides itself on its 360-degree holistic service model, providing services for the whole family, meeting the needs of low and moderate-income New Yorkers, specializing in helping refugees and immigrants.

Job Summary:

The Marks JCH Women’s Center, seeks a passionate and dedicated Case Manager specializing in gender-based violence, intimate partner violence, and domestic violence. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team committed to providing comprehensive, trauma-informed care and support to vulnerable refugee and immigrant survivors.

This role involves providing intake, screening, monitoring, case management, referrals, programming support, and supportive counseling for our clients. Through a range of specialized services and grassroots community partnerships, we help clients transition from surviving to thriving.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct intake & screening assessments for clients.
  • Develop safety plans and manage the needs of domestic violence clients through targeted referrals, legal clinics, benefit screenings and more.
  • Serve as a liaison with internal and external agency partners and other providers to ensure adequate client referrals and follow-up.
  • Maintain and review case documentation, such as case notes and program referrals.
  • Investigate and arrange supportive services for clients.
  • Establish collaborative relationships with internal programs and external partners to enhance domestic violence services.
  • Stay updated with policies, regulations, and best practices related to domestic violence.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Requested:

  • Strong preference for Russian speakers; Uzbek or Tajik speakers are a plus.
  • At least one year of experience working directly with clients in social service settings.
  • Experience with gender-based violence work and trauma-informed programming is a plus.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Excel, calendar, email, and database software necessary for work assignments.
  • Proficiency in providing technical assistance on data collection and reporting requirements.
  • Outstanding program management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities on tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong sense of teamwork and the ability to function effectively both independently and as part of a multi-stakeholder team.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations professionally, demonstrating sound judgment and resourcefulness.
  • BA required; MSW, MPA or related fields preferred.
  • Supervision for counseling provided for LMSWs accruing clinical hours.
