Camp Counselor (Seasonal)
Are you passionate about working with young children and love the idea of spending your summer outdoors? Our vibrant summer camp is looking for enthusiastic and caring Camp Counselors to join our team!
About Us:
We are a conservative Shul located in Columbia, MD. Our camp offers an 8-week half-day program for 3-14 year-olds filled with fun, creativity, and special activities. From water play, music, theater, sports, art, yoga, and movement to learning leadership skills. We also offer a 4-week **"Tiny Explorers"** program for 2-year-olds that focuses on playful experiences and outdoor fun.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage with campers (ages 2-14), ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Lead and assist in daily activities, including art, music, water play, movement, and special programs
- Help coordinate and participate in weekly special program days and the All-Camp Friday Shabbat celebration
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and fun camp environment
- Collaborate with fellow counselors and camp leadership to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
Qualifications:
- Experience working with young children (ages 2-14) in a camp, school, or similar setting
- Energetic, patient, and able to engage children in activities
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
