Description

The Communications Coordinator/Administrative Assistant reports to the Temple Administrator.  This position supports staff and clergy, manages internal and external communications as well as office logistics. The ideal candidate is organized, creative, friendly, comfortable using social media and common software applications, able to flexibly work in a sometimes fast-paced small office. A familiarity with Jewish culture is also valuable.

Congregation Beth El, 105 Hudson Rd., Sudbury, MA

  • 30 hours per week, in person, $25 per hour

Preferred skills: 

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
  • Google Workspace (including Google Drive)
  • Constant Contact
  • Facebook, Instagram and similar social media
  • Canva, Photoshop or other graphic design app

Bonus: Familiarity with Shulcloud, Google Analytics

Job responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of public contact: admit and greet visitors, answer phones, manage email and snail mail
  • Post upcoming events on the synagogue’s social media accounts as well as community calendars and websites
  • Draft and send emails about events and announcements to congregants using Constant Contact
  • Draft weekly email newsletter, which includes the week’s calendar, upcoming events, news and donations
  • Maintain Rabbi’s calendar 
  • General office/administrative support
  • Attend weekly staff meetings
  • Develop and manage content calendar for social media that includes  posts, photos, videos, event listings, etc.
