ABOUT YOU
As the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will develop and execute strategies that amplify Congregation Rodeph Sholom’s mission. Reporting to the Director of Engagement and Program, this full-time role involves leading a marketing team and contributing directly to key communication initiatives, including content development, project oversight, and performance measurement
WORK SCHEDULE
Our team operates on a hybrid schedule, with flexibility to adapt to evolving duties. Core working hours are typically 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM from Monday through Friday (ending at 4:00 PM on Fridays). Work on evenings, weekends, Shabbat and holidays may occasionally be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Editorial Calendar & Communications: Develop and oversee a strategic editorial calendar and lead multi-channel communications (digital, social, web, print, video, and more) to ensure consistent branding and timely promotion.
Project & Vendor Management: Plan, lead, and execute marketing projects, including setting deliverables, managing timelines and budgets, coordinating with departments, and working with external vendors.
Process Optimization & Change Management: Improve workflows, optimize resource use, and adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining high-quality outcomes.
Content Development & Oversight: Lead and contribute to creating marketing content, including newsletters, emails, writing, editing, and design, ensuring alignment with communication goals.
Performance Metrics & Reporting: Track and analyze key performance indicators to assess effectiveness of communications to inform strategies and drive improvements.
Website Management & Enhancement: Oversee and contribute to all aspects of the synagogue’s websites, including updates, design improvements, and technical coordination.
Team Leadership: Mentor and manage a full-time coordinator and part-time contractor, fostering a collaborative, high-performing team.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with clergy, staff, and lay leaders to align marketing initiatives with the synagogue’s mission.
Other Duties as Assigned: Support additional projects and initiatives that align with CRS’s mission.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience & Leadership: 3-5 years in marketing/communications, preferably in the non-profit sector, with demonstrated success supervising at least one employee.
Organization & Collaboration: Strong ability to multitask, prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment, and work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft 365, social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok), email marketing tools (Constant Contact), web platforms (WordPress, HTML/CSS), analytics tools (Google Analytics), Adobe Suite, video tools (Vimeo), event registration systems (SimpleTix), project management tools (e.g., Monday.com), and CRM systems (preferably Salesforce).
Communication & Design: Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for design and brand consistency.
Adaptability & Initiative: Self-motivated and adaptable, capable of working independently and collaboratively while maintaining high standards.
SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary Range: $75,000 - $80,000, commensurate with experience.
