WHO WE ARE:

THE JOB:

We are seeking a Program Manager to support Arizona Jews for Justice (AJJ), an initiative of Valley Beit Midrash that inspires our community to take action in pursuit of a more just world. Some of our key social action initiatives include work that uplifts the homeless, supports refugees, and assists asylum seekers. The AJJ Program Manager would be tasked with activities that include but are not limited to:

- planning volunteer events for people of all ages in the Greater Phoenix area that are inspired by Jewish values

- supporting the Outreach Coordinator with delivering life-saving supplies on the humanitarian relief bus

- represent AJJ in activist spaces such as protests and rallies

- facilitate AJJ’s social action leadership development fellowship by mentoring fellows and coordinating group learning

- form relationships with interfaith partners and other allies in the Greater Phoenix community

- support VBM’s educational programming as needed

 

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE:

- cares deeply about social justice

- has a passion for Jewish learning

- has some background in the areas of program facilitation, volunteer management, community building and mentorship

- must be located in the Greater Phoenix area

- background check required

 

OTHER PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- college degree or equivalent years of work experience

- proficient use of Google Suite, Canva and Mailchimp

- organized self-starter who is able to work independently

- open to flexible work hours (some evenings and Sundays required)

 

THE POSITION:

- 40 hours per week

- $40,000 annually

- health insurance

- paid time off
