Temple Shir Tikva: Development Coordinator 

Temple Shir Tikva is vibrant and growing Reform Jewish congregation located in Wayland, Massachusetts with close to 600 member units. The Development Coordinator will be an essential member of the team at Temple Shir Tikva. This position will report to the Executive Director and will work closely with the Development Committee, Temple President, other administrators, and congregants to provide administrative leadership and support for the annual campaign, annual report, capital campaign, and other fundraising needs.

Development 

  • Partner with President, Senior Rabbi, Executive Director, and Development Committee on all fundraising activities
  • Coordinate gift acknowledgement processes
  • Run reports to track donations at all levels
  • Ensure the major annual fund fundraising activities are delivered on schedule
    • Deliver graphic design support for all Development mailings
  • Coordinate the production of the Annual Report
  • Provide materials to Senior Rabbi to assist with solicitation of gifts
  • Monitor and support progress of Capital Campaign throughout quiet and public phases
  • Coordinate Development Committee meetings in partnership with the Chairperson
  • Coordinate efforts to encourage giving to Koach Circle, Loyalty Circle, and Legacy Giving

Skills required 

  • Organizational skills: excellent phone and email skills, excellent writing, editing and communication skills, ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Relational skills: able to learn about people- names, stories, situations; works well with a team; ability to juggle competing priorities. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive
  • Proficiency or ability to learn Microsoft Teams and MailChimp
  • Proficiency or ability to learn WordPress
  • Proficiency with social media (Facebook, YouTube) 
  • Proficiency or ability to learn ShulCloud (synagogue database and CRM), scheduling apps, tools for digital communication, invitations, surveys/forms
  • Familiarity with Reform Judaism preferred
  • Enjoys working directly with synagogue members and prospective members to provide understanding and support for their individual needs, including personal and financial.
  • A customer service mindset with a high emotional intelligence. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and assertively to achieve goals

Education/Experience  

College degree strongly preferred  

Prior Development work strongly preferred

Work Schedule

  • Full time, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work-from-home potential for up to 25% of weekly hours
  • Occasional work on weekends and Jewish holidays

Salary/Benefits  

  • Annual salary of $60,000
  • 10 Days paid vacation
