Religious School Educator

Wilshire Boulevard Temple Religious Schools in Los Angeles seeks Sunday morning and/or Wednesday afternoon religious school educators for the 2024-2025 school year. Energetic, fun, non-traditional, camp-style teaching is preferred. Collaboration and teamwork are highly valued. Exceptional support is provided. Sunday positions are available on all three campuses (Koreatown, West Los Angeles, and Brentwood). Teaching time is from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Wednesday afternoon postitions are also available, teaching time 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm. Hourly rate of $30-$70+ per hour (commensurate with experience) plus paid prep and training hours.

RESPONSABILITIES:

• Building relationships with students
• Collaborative lesson planning with support
• Implementing creative and engaging curricula
• Record keeping/taking attendance
• Classroom management
• Supervising students during specialists and during breaks
• Working with teaching assitants to meet the needs of students
• Communicating effectively with supervisors
• Reading and responding to emails

REQUIRED (MUST HAVE):

• Organization
• Ability to connect effectively with students
• Creative and adaptive thinking
• Growth midset
• Ability to follow protocols (attendance, payroll, etc.)
• Basic technology - email, Goggle Drive, show videos

DESIRED (GREAT TO HAVE BUT NOT REQUIRED)

• Teaching or camp experience working with children
• Lesson planning experience
• Hebrew reading skills
• Basic prayers
