About JGO:

The Jewish Grad Organization (JGO) is a non-profit organization that supports Jewish graduate students on 145+ grad campuses across North America, as well as our alumni, in their professional and personal growth by creating an environment where they can connect, grow, and give back to the Jewish community.  Our mission is to empower Jewish graduate students as they navigate their careers and personal lives, fostering a sense of belonging and enriching their Jewish identity along the way.

Job Description:

JGO is seeking a dynamic and energized Midwest Engagement Coordinator, where you'll be the driving force and point behind fostering a engaged Jewish community among graduate students in the Midwest region. Your role focuses to ensure Jewish graduate students have opportunities to exercise their Jewish pride and learn about their Jewish heritage in a deep and meaningful way! Your role will involve building relationships, creating, organizing, and running events and innovative programs regularly while bringing your flair to the role. This role is focused on offering support to enhance Jewish life on over 15 campuses while connecting Jewish graduate students to partner organizations that offer compelling, enticing and informative opportunities that further their Jewish connection and provide a strong Jewish network.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement personalized engagement strategies for graduate students, tailoring approaches to accommodate their diverse academic backgrounds and needs.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with students through regular in-person meetings, understanding their aspirations, challenges, and networks.
  • Actively recruit students for JGO-sponsored events both on and off campus, facilitating participation in gatherings such as JELCON, Fellowships, Shabbat Across America, and more.
  • Partner with local organizations in your region to offer compelling, enticing and informative opportunities that further their Jewish connection and provide a strong Jewish network.
  • Develop and provide educational opportunities for graduate students interested in exploring Judaism and the Jewish community at large. 
  • Design, organize, and execute programs and events on campus regularly, ensuring they cater to the interests and needs of the student community.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource and guide for students seeking opportunities for young adult engagement.
  • Participate in local off-campus events, ensuring all logistics as needed.
  • Coordinate local marketing and social media management including email marketing (Mailchimp), social media postings, and overall communications management.
  • Provide logistical support and ownership over all local programs, both on-campus and off-campus
  • Travel throughout the region on a regular basis

Qualifications:

  • 0-3 years of professional experience, with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Previous experience in recruitment.
  • An energetic and engaging personality, coupled with strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of the professional team.
  • Superior problem-solving and multi-tasking ability.
  • Competent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and experience in marketing and social media management.
  • You have a car and are easily able to drive throughout the region
