Temple Sholom is a warm and highly inclusive Reform congregation in the heart of Chicago, in the Lakeview neighborhood. Founded in 1867, Temple Sholom is one of Chicago’s oldest and most pioneering synagogues, serving around 1100 family units. 

In addition to our history, Temple Sholom is proud of our nationally accredited and vast program offerings ranging from our innovative religious school, social events, and beautiful services. Temple Sholom also has a long history of work in social justice with many of our members seeking ways to touch humanity and do great things for their families. Job Summary: 

We are seeking knowledgeable, enthusiastic, talented educators to join our amazing Religious School faculty. We have openings for Religious School teachers, specialists, and permanent substitutes. We have a limited number of positions available on both Sundays 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM and/or Wednesdays 5:00 PM -6:15 PM.

Qualifications:  
Possess a deep love for Judaism and a strong Jewish background  
Open to creating a joyful, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment 

Enthusiastic, reflective, and thoughtful educator 

Experience teaching K-8th graders 
Strong communication skills and professionalism 

Knowledge of Hebrew (decoding, reading, tefillah)  

Ability to collaborate with other teachers and specialists
