HonestReporting is a fast-growing watchdog organization that is dedicated to combating anti-Israel bias across traditional mainstream and social media networks.

 

LOCATION:

Remote, US. East Coast or Central Time Zone, required.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

The Development Assistant serves as the backbone of the fundraising operation by overseeing all administrative functions, communication with entry-level donors, and grant-writing. This position will also be responsible for prospect research, coordinating fundraising events and programs, and assisting with strategic outreach.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and send email communications in response to routine inquiries, and to entry-level constituent donors and prospects. Track all donor interactions in Salesforce and maintain accurate portfolio data, updating addresses, emails, phone numbers, and names as needed.
  • Utilizing various databases, research new prospective grant opportunities, update the grants calendar, and meet monthly goals in applying for new institutional and organizational grants.
  • Maintain existing grants calendar, and ensure that all reporting and application deadlines are being met.
  • Conduct research on new major gifts prospects.
  • Work collaboratively with the development team to develop and implement strategies for engaging with new prospects.
  • Work closely with the Finance department on incoming donation processes.
  • Assist with planning and preparations for special events, including maintaining RSVP lists.
  • Support department’s strategic engagements including events, direct mail campaigns, email campaigns, etc.
  • Assist the Fundraising department with mass email scheduling, contacts maintenance, meeting preparation and follow-up, and other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA, with minimum of 1-3 years of experience in sales, fundraising, administrative support, marketing, project management or event coordination. Prior nonprofit work and experience with Jewish and/or Israel-related philanthropy is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to create an accurate profile on prospect candidates.
  • Demonstrated team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Exceptional skills in the areas of organization, time management, ability to manage multiple tasks, define and set priorities and problem solve.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to take initiative with projects, and to work independently.
  • Flexibility in schedule required.
