Katz Yeshiva High School of South Florida (KYHS) is a co-ed, Modern-Orthodox high school with close to 500 students, housed in a beautiful facility at the heart of the rapidly growing Jewish community of Boca Raton, FL. KYHS is well-known for its diverse range of students, its rigorous academic program, and its warm and embracing environment. Due to increased enrollment and an expanding program we are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Jewish History teacher to join our team for the 2025-2026 school year.  

As a Jewish History Teacher at KYHS, you will have the opportunity to inspire students to engage deeply with Judaic texts, traditions, and values while fostering critical thinking and a love for learning. The ideal candidate will be looking to inspire students with a deep understanding and appreciation for the rich tapestry of Jewish history while also seeking to shape the spiritual and intellectual development of their students. 


Candidates must be models of exemplary Torah observance and values who have a comprehensive knowledge of Jewish History, a desire to engage and connect with students, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Teach five classes of Jewish History and Judaic Studies for a total of 20 weekly periods. Foster an interactive and engaging classroom environment, utilizing innovative teaching methods to make Jewish history come alive for students.
  • Develop and implement a dynamic Jewish history curriculum that spans ancient to contemporary periods, weaving together religious, cultural, and geopolitical aspects. 
  • Infuse lessons with Jewish ethical and moral principles, emphasizing the connection between historical events and their impact on Jewish identity and values.
  • Encourage students to analyze primary and secondary sources critically, developing their skills in historical inquiry and interpretation.
  • Provide thoughtful and timely feedback on student work and update online gradebook (RenWeb) and Google Classroom on a regular basis.
  • Attend scheduled department, faculty, and professional development meetings. 

Applicants should possess a Master’s Degree in Judaic Studies, History, or a related field. Previous experience teaching Jewish history in a high school setting is advantageous. Compensation and benefits are highly competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
