About the Position

We have built an ambitious plan to bring Lehrhaus to eight cities over the next decade, aiming to become the largest provider of adult Jewish education in the world. We are seeking a motivated, creative, and talented Chief Development Officer to help transform Lehrhaus from a start-up to a mature organization with global reach. This role involves building the technical and relational infrastructure necessary to support Lehrhaus, providing significant opportunities and responsibilities to create a development strategy and think big as we rapidly scale.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a diverse and comprehensive fundraising strategy, encompassing institutional giving, major donor programs, and contributions from smaller donors.
• Develop and establish efficient fundraising processes and systems to guarantee long-term financial sustainability.
• Met and exceed Lehrhaus’s ambitious yearly fundraising targets.
• Collaborate with local Lehrhaus directors to secure funding for each location, ensuring their sustained success.
• Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with donors and strategic partners.
• Manage intricate funding arrangements, ranging from local funding for individual sites to large-scale national partnerships.

Ideal Background and Experience

• 5-7 years experience working in the field of fundraising.
• A proven track record as an experienced solicitor of major gifts and grants. 
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise staff, foster team collaboration, and provide mentorship.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Possess the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently, balancing both overarching goals and details, while completing various projects with agility, speed, and adaptability.
• Exhibit the ability to take initiative and lead, while also being able to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary: $130,000 + performance bonuses.
• Strong benefits package.
