Who We Are:

Moishe (pronounced moy-shuh) House is what being Jewish in your 20s is all about. Launched in 2006 when four friends began hosting Shabbat dinners in their home, Moishe House provides a space for over 70,000 young adults around the world to create meaningful, welcoming Jewish communities for themselves and their peers each year. To date, there are more than 150 communities in over 40 countries, and we’re still growing!

The Global Director of Advancement collaborates with the Vice President, Advancement and the broader Development/grants team to grow and manage a regionally-based individual and institutional donor portfolio, and to grow the scope of our global budget, from $500K to $1M. This role has a focus on broadening the overall international donor base through relationship-building and creating immersive experiences with potential donors.

This position reports to the Vice President, Advancement, and works with Moishe House’s Board of Directors and senior staff to build upon the success of our fundraising efforts, while leading the development and execution of a unique strategy to effectively identify, cultivate, and steward individual donors.

Who You Are and What You'll Do:

  • You are excited about tackling big challenges and new projects, and excel in building and nurturing relationships, communicating and presenting, telling stories, and data tracking with great attention to detail. 
  • You are an experienced fundraiser and donor steward, with specific responsibilities in: 
    • Collaborating with the Vice President, Advancement, in the team’s efforts to sustain and grow local philanthropic support in Europe, Latin America, Israel, Australia, South Africa, and beyond. 
    • Meaningfully engaging a growing donor base, driving the successful solicitation and renewal of gifts and involvement from major donors to support the global efforts of Moishe House. 
    • Working with funders and partners to meaningfully connect with Moishe House residents and programs.
    • Proactively identifying and securing new funding opportunities. 
    • Actively participating in recruiting, cultivating and leading a strong network of lay leaders committed to the success of Moishe House.
  • You collaborate with the team in creating and facilitating in-person and virtual experiences, including: 
    • Planning, recruiting and executing multiple immersive experiences for major donors and donor prospects, such as On The Road, Moishe House’s annual travel experience for major donors and funding partners. 
    • Building and nurturing relationships, communicating and presenting the Moishe House story and values. 
  • You have an understanding and belief in our mission and the larger Jewish community: you’re a leader, a storyteller, a communicator, a visionary, and a collaborator.  
  • You understand the nuances of introducing Moishe House to people for the first time as well as keeping existing participants/alumni and partners abreast of why the organization remains relevant and dynamic. 
  • You have a strong vision and passion for building young adult Jewish life globally, find joy in working directly with the young adults that Moishe House serves, and are effective at serving as a role model and mentor.  
  • You have Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business or Nonprofit Management, or equivalent years of additional work experience. 
  • You have at least 3 years’ full-time post-graduate professional experience, preferably in global leadership, fundraising, philanthropy, and/or lay leadership development.
  • You have at least 3 years of adult experience living, working, and engaging in Jewish life outside of North America.
  • You have a passion for fundraisingwith two years fundraising and/or sales experience preferred. 
  • You can navigate a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. 
  • You have strong relationship-building experience and skill, with the ability to find common ground, build consensus, and strengthen collaboration among diverse stakeholders.  
  • You demonstrate effective communication at all levels in the organization, with strong oral and written skills and a willingness to share information.  
  • You demonstrate resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and systems.
  • You are flexible, a self-starter, effective at multi-tasking, and highly detail oriented. 
  • You enjoy and are motivated by international travel and will be available to travel internationally on a regular basis (~25%), potentially 1 - 2 times each month. 
  • You have knowledge of, and experience with, donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies and techniques. 
  • You demonstrate intermediate-level skills with Microsoft Office and other office management tools. Experience with Salesforce or other donor database strongly preferred. 
  • You are able to multitask and monitor several projects at all times, to work well under pressure, and to manage time effectively. 
  • You have written and verbal proficiency in English and at least one other language (preferred).

  • You have eligibility to work in the country from which you are seeking to work without employer sponsorship.  
  • You have direct Moishe House experience as staff, resident, host and/or community member (preferred). 

The Fine Print:

The Global Director of Advancement is a full-time, year-round position, and requires weekday office hours plus occasional weekends or evenings, and regular travel to complete job requirements.  

The position is located in a city outside of North America, with preference for London/UK or any major European city with a strong Moishe House presence, and is supervised by the Vice President, Advancement.

How Moishe House Pays You:

Moishe House’s starting salary ranges are based on education, experience, location, and skillset required for each role. If you have more experience and/or are targeting a different salary range, let's talk!

  • The starting salary range for this full-time position is (will be adapted for experience, location, and currency, and paid in local currency):
    • For London/UK: 63,000 – 68,000 GBP
    • For Europe: 76,000 – 81,000
  • Annual merit-based salary increases
