The Senior Institutional Advancement Officer will play a critical role in advancing Hadar's mission by developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies. This position requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in securing major gifts, cultivating donor relationships, and managing high-impact fundraising campaigns. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, strategic vision, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including the Hadar Board. This is a full-time, in-person position based out of our New York headquarters. The Senior Institutional Advancement Officer will sit on the Development Team and report into the VP of Institutional Advancement and Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Fundraising Strategy and Execution:
    • Develop and implement a robust fundraising strategy aligned with Hadar’s mission and goals.
    • Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from individuals.
    • Oversee the planning and execution of fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives.
    • Coordinate special projects and donor cultivation assignments
  2. Donor Relations and Stewardship:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective donors.
    • Develop tailored engagement plans for major donors and ensure timely and personalized communication.
    • Implement donor recognition programs and ensure appropriate acknowledgment of gifts.
  3. Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with the executive team and board of directors to align development efforts with organizational priorities.
    • Work closely with program staff to understand funding needs and communicate impact to donors.
    • Work with faculty to help guide and train on fundraising 
  4. Board Engagement:
    • Work closely with the Hadar Board to leverage their networks and influence for fundraising purposes.
    • Collaborate with Board members to identify potential major donors and strategize on cultivation and solicitation efforts.
    • Engage Board members in fundraising events and initiatives, ensuring they are informed and actively participating in development activities.
    • Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement in fundraising strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a focus on major gifts and donor relations.
  • Proven track record of securing significant donations and meeting fundraising targets.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring a development team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire donors.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute comprehensive fundraising plans.
  • Proficiency in donor management software and data analysis.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Salary
The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $135,000.
