THE JOB:
We are seeking an Associate Program Director to support VBM in our Scottsdale office. This position would be responsible for leading and assisting with in-person and virtual events, supporting development activities, organizing activism efforts, engaging in community outreach and general office administration. Examples include (but are not limited to):
- planning volunteer events for people of all ages in the Greater Phoenix area that are inspired by Jewish values.
- facilitate AJJ’s social action fellowship for young adults or teens by mentoring fellows and coordinating group learning
- support VBM’s educational programming by attending virtual classes and provide support for in-person lectures and events
- join donor meetings and assist development staff with biannual mailing campaigns
- join activist spaces such as rallies and protests that support our values and mission
- create partnerships and build relationships with other community organizations in the social action space
- be available to accept donations of physical goods in the office, greet visitors and provide general administrative support as needed
AN IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- has a passion for Jewish learning
- cares deeply about social justice
- is comfortable with public speaking and enjoys meeting new people and being in social environments
- has at least 5 years of experience in the areas of program facilitation, volunteer management, community building or mentorship
- must be located in the Greater Phoenix area
- background check required
OTHER PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- college degree in a relevant field
- proficient use of Google Suite, social media, Zoom and Canva
- organized self-starter who is able to work independently
- open to flexible work hours (some evenings and Sundays required)
THE POSITION:
- 40 hours per week
- $50,000 - $55,000 annually
- health insurance
- 10 paid vacation days per year, in addition to many paid federal and Jewish holidays off (when they fall on weekdays)
