Who Is the Development and Events Coordinator?
The Development and Events Coordinator will work collaboratively to strengthen donor relationships through personalized engagement and stewardship that inspires philanthropic support. This person will also coordinate all rental events, serving as the primary contact and face of Congregation Ner Tamid for external clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Development:

  • Assist with donor stewardship, outreach, and correspondence through digital and physical communications.
  • Maintain accurate donor databases and records, and track and report key fundraising metrics.
  • Collaborate with development and marketing teams to create compelling fundraising materials, presentations, marketing collateral, and external communications.
  • Manage gift and tribute acknowledgment letters and invoicing processes.
  • Support development and event planning teams in coordinating and executing fundraising events.
  • Assist with preparation of materials for meetings with donors, Board of Trustees, and others.
  • Provide additional administrative support as needed.

Event Coordination:

  • Assist in the planning of synagogue events, including lifecycle events (e.g., weddings, B’nai Mitzvah), holiday celebrations, and community gatherings.
  • Coordinate event logistics such as room setups, AV needs, catering, and supplies.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for event organizers and external rental groups, ensuring a seamless experience.
  • Provide additional administrative support as needed.

Position Type:

  • Part-Time, 25 hours/ week hourly

Compensation:

  • $25.00- $27.00/ hour (dependent on experience)

Reports To:

  • Executive Director 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in program management, event coordination, or related fields, preferably in a Jewish communal setting.
  • Strong understanding of Jewish practices and commitment to Jewish communal life.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a diverse community.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with program management tools (e.g., Salesforce, ShulCloud, Blackbaud), Canva, and Constant Contact is a plus.
