Temple Sinai of Bergen County is a thriving Reform congregation located in Tenafly, NJ, only seven miles from Manhattan. Our diverse membership comes from all across Bergen County. We welcome individuals and families from all backgrounds who seek an invigorating Jewish experience. 

We’re looking for someone who is motivated, organized, and collaborative, with demonstrated experience in applying current technology, along with attention to detail and accuracy. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to create a welcoming presence, manage Early Childhood and Religious School communications and inquiries, manage our database, process expenses, and oversee the administration of special events. The Education Coordinator is an at-will, full-time, non-FLSA exempt employee of the congregation. S/he/they report(s) to the Director of Education & Director of the Early Childhood Center. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

Administrative 

  • Manages, tracks, and analyzes online program enrollment for Early Childhood & Religious School(including full-year, seasonal, and event-based enrollments)
  • Provides excellent customer service to congregants, students, and others on the telephone and in person
  • Provides administrative & clerical support to Director of Education & Director of the Early Childhood Center
  • Oversees logistics and organization for all educational programming and events
  • Oversees and manages ordering and maintenance of supplies and storage

Communications & Technology 

  • Creates, edits, and manages electronic & print communications and marketing for the Early Childhood and Religious School
  • Collects and organizes social media & website content for Early Childhood & Religious School
  • Maintains educational component of membership database and helps to optimize system efficiency

Qualifications 

  • A bachelor’s degree and 2+ years administrative experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365, Outlook, Google Drive/Docs and Canva. ShulCloud experience a plus. 
  • Able to reinforce our warm, friendly, and comfortable environment by interacting and communicating well with congregants, staff and others, both in person and via phone
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to prioritize and multitask
  • Must be detail-oriented and meticulous
  • Able to work cooperatively with lay leadership, congregants, and staff
  • School administrative experience as well as familiarity with Jewish customs and Hebrew is preferred.

As in any small office, there will be duties shared with co-workers. Cross-training in many other office tasks is expected.  Please note: all employees may be required to work on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur and current Temple Sinai members will not be considered for this position.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary of $25 per hour
  • 2 weeks / 10 days vacation
  • 6 weeks new parent leave (birth or adoption) fully paid; 7 sick days annually
