Religious School Teachers - Part-Time for the 2024-25 School Year

Are you passionate about Judaism and love working with children?  If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!  Congregation Beth Emeth, a dynamic Conservative synagogue in Herndon, VA is looking for enthusiastic and creative teachers to join our lively religious school program for the 2024-25 school year.  Openings in 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th grade are available.

• Work in a warm and collaborative environment that values creativity and knowledge.
• Flexible part-time positions available to fit your schedule: Sunday mornings only (9 to noon) and/or Wednesday afternoons (4:30 to 6:30).
• Optional opportunity: Teach Hebrew virtually one-on-one with children on Tuesday and/or Thursday afternoons/evenings.

Ideal Candidates:

• Enthusiastic, patient, and dependable individuals.
• Passionate about Jewish knowldege, tradition and history
• Familiar with Hebrew (enough to teach beginning readers to decode), or a willingness to learn.
• Skilled in using various teaching strategies to engage different types of learners.

Your Responsibilities:

• Teach captivating and age-appropriate lesson plans (with support from school leadership).
• Foster positive relationships with students and parents.
• Share student/class progress with parents via periodic friendly email updates.
