Join a dynamic forward thinking camp team as the Social Worker, in tandem with the Director, and leadership team. We are currently looking for a candidate to join our Community Care team. This person will be is responsible for working on mental emotional social health issues with our campers. The Social Worker is expected to provide our community with meaningful and critical guidance to make healthy, responsible, and respectful choices. The Social Worker plays a key role in training staff. The Social Worker embodies Sprout Camp’s core values in their interactions and decisions regarding community care and is a positive, contributing member of the summer leadership team. The Social Worker is expected to create strong relationships with the camp community and exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
This position requires a person with a variety of skills and the ability to transition from one situation to another quickly and intuitively while also showing compassion and empathy for campers and staff. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves a challenge, an environment that is constantly changing and working with college age population. Camp is a magical place and our staff are the people that make it happen. This person will be support these very special people.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:1.Serve as the lead professional in determining appropriate responses to all issues related to social, emotional, and mental health, safety, and well-being
2. Serve as a positive role model in the camp community and represent camp values3. Participate in required supervisor and staff training prior to camp4. Communicate with Director, Associate Director, and Infirmary to monitor and support the physical, social, and emotional health, safety, and well-being of staff5. Assist with challenging camper / staff situations and provide ongoing support to staff to respond to campers behavioral, emotional and mental health needs6. Consult with Director and Assistant Director about significant concerns and issues that arise to determine appropriate response for campers, staff, and parents7. Observe and document staff situations/incidents, design behavior intervention and/or management plans, and monitor and report on progress9. Facilitate group sessions for all staff feedback groups (Only for position serving the staff members) 10. Perform other related duties as assigned by Camp Director
Minimum Qualifications:
