Sunday-Only Religious School Teacher

Temple Beth David of the South Shore, located in Canton, Ma is looking for a caring and creative teacher to be part of our innovative education team.  We are a small and heimish Reform congregation with a vibrant membership and a small religious school in the greater Boston area. School runs from September 2024 through June 2025 on Sunday mornings from 9:00-12:30. We are conveniently located a few minutes off of Route 138 near one of Massasoit Community College’s campuses. 

Our philosophical approach underlying the Shorashim Religious School is that children learn best and are fully engaged when learning through interactive and experiential educational frameworks.  It is important that our students not only learn the content but also feel a positive emotional connection that helps them develop a strong Jewish identity.  As such, we will be pivoting to a Project-Based Learning approach in order to align with this vision of education; while knowledge and experience would be helpful, we will be providing professional development workshops and on-going support.

We are currently looking for a creative, innovative and dynamic teacher who would like to  to join us and be part of our educational team.  You will be responsible, along with another teacher in teaching the upper elementary school grades (grades 3-7) on Sunday mornings. Experience supporting students with diverse learning styles and special learning needs is a plus.

Knowledge in teaching Hebrew, Jewish values, Torah and tradition are pre-requisites.  Salary is competitive for the South Shore area.
