Our client, Chaim Medical Resource (www.cmresource.org) seeks a Director of Development. They will lead all Fundraising initiatives that support Chaim Medical's mission to provide comprehensive assistance to individuals and families facing serious medical challenges.

In addition, this role involves collaborating with clinical teams to identify, engage and foster relationships with grateful patients and their families. The ideal candidate must possess cultural sensitivity and a deep understanding of Orthodox Judaism, while demonstrating the ability to engage respectfully and meaningfully with a diverse patient and donor base, including individuals from different Jewish traditions, non-Jewish backgrounds, and secular communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Leadership:
    Expanding on their Grateful Patient Program, develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy that aligns with Chaim Medical's mission to guide patients through the complexities of medical crises, including navigating doctors, specialists, hospitals, and treatment options.
  • Cultural Sensitivity and Relationship Management:
    Navigate the cultural nuances of an organization rooted in Orthodox Judaism while engaging patients and donors from a wide range of cultural, religious, and secular backgrounds. Foster inclusivity and mutual respect to build trust and strengthen relationships across all communities served by Chaim Medical.
  • Donor Cultivation and Solicitation:
    Manage a portfolio of high-potential donors, conducting personalized engagement activities to secure major and principal gifts that support Chaim Medical's services, such as medical referrals, global research, and patient advocacy.
  • Stewardship Excellence:
    Ensure exceptional donor stewardship through personalized engagement, recognition programs, and regular updates on the impact of their giving. Build long-term relationships that contribute to the organization's ability to push the boundaries of research and pursue hope in the most challenging circumstances.
  • Compliance and Confidentiality:
    Ensure all grateful patient fundraising activities comply with HIPAA regulations and Chaim Medical's policies, maintaining the highest standards of patient confidentiality and ethical fundraising practices.
  • Metrics and Reporting:
    Establish and monitor key performance indicators. Provide regular reports on activity, dollars raised, and donor retention, using data-driven insights to continuously improve strategies that support the organization's mission to find hope in the most impossible places.

Qualifications:

    • Education:
      Bachelor’s degree required, with study in nonprofit management, business administration, healthcare, or a related field preferred.
    • Experience:
      Minimum of 5 years of professional fundraising experience. Proven success in major gift solicitation, preferably within a healthcare setting.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.
    • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building trust and engagement with diverse stakeholders.
    • Strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to design and execute effective fundraising plans.
    • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare fundraising best practices.
    • Proficiency in donor management systems and CRM tools.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Relevant exposure or deep understanding preferred, of Orthodox Jewish values, practices, and traditions.
    • Demonstrated ability to engage respectfully and effectively with diverse cultural, religious, and secular communities.
    • Passionate about philanthropy and the mission of Chaim Medical Resource.
    • Collaborative and empathetic, with a patient-centered approach to fundraising.
    • Results-driven and self-motivated, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

This role is integral to advancing Chaim Medical Resource's commitment to providing support to individuals and families facing the devastating effects of medical crises. The Director of Development will also ensure that patient gratitude translates into meaningful contributions that further the organization's mission, while fostering an inclusive and respectful environment that reflects the values of Chaim Medical and its diverse community.
