SALARY: Commensurate with experience and educationSCHEDULE: 1.0 Full time, 40 hrs per week, 12 monthsLOCATION: Temple Emanu-ElPOSTING DATE: August 1, 2024DEADLINE: Until filledSTART DATE: September 1, 2024The Temple Emanu-El Early Childhood Community (ECC) is actively seeking a qualified Director to oversee the daily operations and administration of the ECC as an integral part of Temple.Qualifications:• College degree in early childhood or related field from an accredited university• Minimum 4 years experience in early childhood, including working with infants• Strong problem solving, organizational and communication skills• Knowledge and passion of early childhood education and development• Business management acumen• Classroom experience: A director is responsible for hiring teaching staff. They should have knowledge of how to manage groups of children and classroom structure.• CPR and First-Aid certification• Positive upbeat attitude, while working in a fast-paced environment• Working knowledge and understanding of Jewish faith and traditions• A love of children!
Key Responsibilities:• Oversee daily operations• Develop a curriculum and programs: Uphold the vision of the preschool. Determine the needs of both the school and summer camp.• Create policies: Policies should conform to state licensing and accreditation requirements to ensure compliance. Establish illness and emergency procedures and policies.• Oversee budget: Develop, execute, and oversee the operating budget for ECC.• Ensure First-Aid requirements are met: Schedule CPR and first aid training for all staff.• Market the ECC: Develop a marketing strategy to remain competitive and innovative as a program. Conduct tours for prospective families, cultivate relationships with parents.• Manage communications: Cultivate an inclusive, professional work environment. Communicate and remain accessible to parents, students and staff. Collaborate with leadership to build community. Attend semi-monthly board meetings.• Oversee staff: Support, hire, and supervise staff. Facilitate meaningful professional staff meetings, including professional development opportunities.Assist with classroom needs, such as unexpected custodial and maintenance issues.• Manage facilities: Maintain a safe and clean environment to exceed licensing requirements.• Computer proficiency: including Microsoft Excel, Word, and ShulCloud.
