Lifeguard - Day Camp

Camp Deeny Riback in Flanders, NJ is seeking Lifeguards for the 2025 summer camp season.

As a Lifeguard at Camp Deeny Riback, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of campers ages 3 to 15. Your duties and responsibilities include:

• Provide lifeguarding service during scheduled swim times
• Provide swimming instruction and support for other pool-related programs
• Monitor pool areas to identify any safety issues and provide assistance and protection to participants
• Regularly test pool chemistry, log results, and treat the pool with the correct amount of chemicals
• Rescue distressed persons, using rescue techniques

• Maintain a safe pool environment, including keeping the pool, deck, and surrounding areas clean and free of hazards
• Perform additional duties as assigned. Job duties may be subject to change according to the activities of the camp, camp needs, and the organization as a whole. 

Additional Information:

• Lifeguards at Camp Deeny Riback will be full-time temporary/seasonal employees who work Monday through Friday from June 23, 2025 through August 15, 2025 (camp is closed on Friday, July 4^th) with various training dates leading up to the camp season (June 4, 8, 13-15, 22).

Qualifications:

• Current Red Cross (or equivalent) Lifeguard Certification or willingness to obtain certification prior to the start of camp (we will provide the certification training). However, if not already certified, candidates must first pass a swim assessment before a job offer and certification training are provided.
• Previous experience as a lifeguard with knowledge of aquatic rescue and safety techniques is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid Certifications
