Position overview:
The Rabbis for Israel, National Director is a new position charged with reimagining Jewish National Fund – USA's historic engagement with Rabbis and the Jewish communities at large across all denominations. This National Director will be responsible for identifying and cultivating select rabbis to engage in the work of Jewish National Fund USA. Through JNF-USA's, established, strategic initiatives, and the development of innovative initiatives for engagement, the National Director will grow the Rabbis for Israel affinity network. Rabbis for Israel aims to encourage rabbis to use their unique voice to inspire their congregations, organizations, and communities to develop deeper, more meaningful connections with Israel and the Jewish people.
This position can be based in any of the following JNF offices:
- New York City
- Rockville Centre, NY
- Northbrook, IL
- Boca Raton, FL
- Scottsdale, AZ
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Fundraising, Communal Leadership Engagement and Advocacy:
- Empower targeted rabbis in key communities to engage with the work of Jewish National Fund
- Identify and engage 150 to 250 Rabbis for Israel with JNF-USA initiatives such as Congregational and Volunteer Missions, Global Conference for Israel, Global Speakers Bureau and Ma'alot Grants.
- Work with Rabbis for Israel to encourage key communal lay leaders to engage with JNF-USA
- Liaise with JNF-USA grantees in the Rabbinical space, such as Sinai Fellows and Yavne
- Represent JNF-USA with the national religious movements such as the URJ, USCJ, OU and others.
- Manage the National Rabbis for Israel Committee
- Connect Rabbis for Israel with various youth engagement initiatives, as appropriate such as Tu B'Shvat, Alexander Muss High School in Israel and Dream Israel grants, Plant Your Way accounts, Bar/Bat Mitzvah projects, Educator Missions to Israel and Shabbat for Israel.
- Educate rabbis on the work of JNF USA and encourage rabbis to share messages in support of JNF USA events
- Ensure key data is captured in our database in a timely manner and to use data to make more impactful decisions, analyze opportunities, and evaluate success
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Strategy Officer
Qualifications & Skills:
- Deep understanding of synagogues and the broader Jewish community
- Ability to work with all streams of Judaism
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to be flexible as demanded by a rapidly changing environment
- Experience with Salesforce preferred
- Travel required
- Knowledge of Israel
