The Yud Foundation  is the philanthropic arm of the JBN Foundation and Dynasty Partners,  a fellowship of Jewish wealth-builders collaborating in philanthropy for richer lives and leveraged impact.  It stands unique in its approach, guiding philanthropists towards initiatives that resonate with their interests and align closely with supporting a thriving Jewish community. The Yud Foundation philanthropic funds are a collection of specialized funds dedicated to strengthening the Jewish community, supporting Israel, and combating antisemitism through strategic philanthropy. 

 Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Executive Director (ED) of the funds who will serve as the operational leader responsible for launching and implementing the goals of the funds.  The ED  will collaborate closely with the Board of Directors of each fund,  who will approve the investment decisions, the Investment and Advisory Committees, composed of experts in the area the fund supports, who will make recommendations to the Board, key donors, and partner organizations. The ED will manage external relationships, oversee operations, and ensure the strategic alignment of the Funds.  The ED will launch and manage 3 funds and provide support in the launch of new funds as needed

The ED will report to the Chief Operating Officer of the JBN Foundation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  1. Strategic Leadership & Facilitation:
    • Support the development and implementation of long-term strategic plans, ensuring alignment with the Fund’s mission and goals.
    • Ensure each of the Funds has a strong Investment and Advisory Committee. Make new member recommendations to the Board. Facilitate the work of the Board, Investment and Advisory Committees by providing necessary resources, removing obstacles, and creating a collaborative environment.
    • Cultivate relationships with philanthropists, business leaders, and key stakeholders to unify efforts and ensure strategic coordination.
    • Monitor global trends related to Israel and antisemitism, offering insight to the Board. 

 

  1. Donor Engagement and Fundraising:
    • Build and maintain relationships with major donors, sustaining financial support for the Fund’s programs and initiatives.
    • Maintain relationships with donors and prospective donors to the Funds. 
    • Provide donors with quarterly financial reports on strategic goals, donations pledged and received, and grants disbursed
    • Provide quarterly reports on beneficiary organization progress toward impact goals and KPIs to determine ROI.
    • Effectively communicate each Fund's vision  and identify donors who could be appropriate for Dynasty membership



  1. Partnerships & External Relations:
    • Develop and maintain partnerships with Jewish organizations, and others in the field of each fund. 
    • Represent the Funds in public forums and media engagements, advocating for the Funds’ mission and promoting its strategic efforts.

 

  1. Financial Oversight:
    • Manage the Funds’ budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and proper resource allocation.
    • Work with the Board of Directors to prioritize allocations in alignment with strategic priorities.
    • Provide regular financial reports to the Board and donors, ensuring transparency and accountability.
    • Collaborate with the JBN Foundation Controller who will be responsible for accounting and financial oversight.



Qualifications

  • Ten years of  leadership experience:  A track record of success in a non-profit senior role
  • Experience working with Board members, high net-worth donors, and prospects.

  • Exceptional team player with dynamic interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Development experience preferred

  • Strategic, self-motivated  professional with an independent work ethic and a commitment to excellent results

  • Strong operational expertise with experience in hands-on execution 

  • Adaptable & Proactive - able to adjust strategies based on data as well as a problem-solver who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments

  • Mission-Driven - committed to the organization's mission and values, with the ability to communicate them authentically
