You are an engaging and dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment; someone who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You are detailed oriented and able to navigate confidential and sensitive issues which require a high degree of discretion. You have three to five years of professionally related experience.

 

EQ (emotional aptitude) is a critical requirement as demonstrated in the following areas:

 

Self-awareness: the ability to assess and recognize one’s own emotions, particularly as they relate to the environment.

Self-management: the ability to control powerful emotions, particularly under tense situations.

Social awareness: the ability to recognize and understand how others are feeling.

Relationship management: the ability to connect with others emotionally and make them feel comfortable; an ability to successfully resolve conflict by addressing the underlying emotions to preserve the relationship.

 

Additionally, the position entails the following responsibilities:

  • Serve as the full-time support to Rabbi/Cantors and at times, supporting others in the clergy suite. Work closely with the Clergy Suite Administrator in execution of responsibilities.
  • Endeavor in independent thinking/judgment. Specific tasks consist of working closely with synagogue staff, Board of Directors, community organizations, and key community members.
  • Stellar interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality as needed.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with other staff members; being a team player is a must
  • Enthusiastic to learn on the job.
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office Suite.
  • General knowledge of Jewish customs, practices, and culture helpful but not required. Training available.

 

The position offers medical, dental, life, and disability insurance along with vacation and sick leave benefits, and free parking. This is a non-exempt, full-time hourly position.
