Position Type: Full-Time

About Us: Hebrew Academy Miami is a Modern Orthodox Jewish day school in Miami Beach, Florida serving students from early childhood through 12th grade. We are committed to academic excellence, Jewish values, and fostering a love of learning in a nurturing and dynamic environment.

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and passionate High School Science Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in science education and the ability to teach various science disciplines, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. This teacher will inspire students to explore the wonders of science through engaging lessons, hands-on experiments, and critical thinking exercises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned science lessons across multiple disciplines.
  • Incorporate hands-on experiments, technology, and real-world applications to enhance student learning.
  • Foster critical thinking, inquiry, and problem-solving skills in students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the science curriculum and integrate interdisciplinary learning.
  • Provide a supportive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that encourages curiosity and growth.
  • Participate in school events, professional development, and department meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience teaching high school science, including advanced courses such as AP Biology, AP Chemistry, or AP Physics (preferred).
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students.
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in science education.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or possess a valid work visa.
