Special Education Assistant Director, SINAI at YCQ

Widely regarded as a leader in special education, SINAI operates 8 schools for individuals ages 5-21, with a wide range of learning and developmental disabilities as well as other special needs. We focus on maximizing each student’s academic, emotional, and social potential, while developing a strong knowledge and love of his or her traditional Jewish heritage. We teach our students skills that promote success in mainstream academic, social and vocational settings, and empower them to become productive and confident members of the community. Each of SINAI’s schools is integrated within a regular education partner Jewish Elementary or High School, creating an inclusion experience that is personalized for every single child.  

SINAI@YCQ, for students in grades one through eight, is located at Yeshiva of Central Queens in Queens, NY. Students have a wide range of developmental, intellectual, and complex learning disabilities, and are grouped into multigraded classes according to their social, academic, and emotional profiles to create appropriate peer groups. 

SINAI Schools is seeking a highly motivated Special Education Assistant Director for the 2025-2026 year to supervise the teaching of children with special needs, ranging from ages 6-14 for its campus at YCQ in Queens, NY. The ideal candidate will have a Master of Special Education and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience managing programs which cater to children. 

Responsibilities

• Assess, develop curricula for multiple classes and age-groups (from ages 6-14) for students with special needs
• Supervise and provide constructive feedback to teachers
• Conduct behavioral planning and incident management 
• Facilitate collaboration among team in order to maximize each student’s potential 
• Lead professional development and growth opportunities for teachers
• Communicate regularly with parents
• Facilitate process of written student evaluations

 Qualifications

• Master of Special Education 
• 5 years teaching experience and/or supervisory experience within an educational setting (special education preferred)

The expected salary range is between $80,000-$100,000.
