The Development/Fundraising Coordinator is a time-limited position with an initial term of 6 months, with the potential for extension based on business needs. This role is critical to supporting the growth and sustainability of our organization, working closely with the Executive Director, the Capital Campaign Chair, and the Campaign Committee. The coordinator will manage key fundraising initiatives, foster donor relations, and track campaign progress. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Jewish customs and traditions, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for building relationships in a nonprofit environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Nonprofit Management, Communications, Business, or related disciplines).
- 3 years of experience in development or fundraising roles, with hands-on involvement in donor communications, campaign management, or event planning.
- Proficiency with donor management software; experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred Familiarity with ShulCloud is a strong plus.
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite and general tech savviness.
- CFRE (Certified Fund-Raising Executive) certification is a plus but not required.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities with patience and attention to detail.
- Collaborative and personable, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Understanding of Jewish culture, holidays, and traditions is a strong plus
- Highly organized, able to manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of email marketing software such as Mailchimp or Constant Contact.
- Proactive and resourceful approach, with the ability to work independently while also contributing to broader team goals.
- Exceptional proofreading and editing skills to ensure all communications are polished and professional.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset, able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Must be able to attend evening events and occasional weekend activities.
- Culturally sensitive and able to work with a multicultural client/customer population.
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain professional boundaries.
- Must pass a criminal background check (Live Scan fingerprinting) prior to beginning employment.
- Must be able to work in-person at our Boca Raton office for all scheduled hours.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with the Executive Director, Capital Campaign Chair, and Committee to execute fundraising initiatives, including annual campaigns, capital campaigns, and donor engagement strategies.
- Manage donor relations by ensuring timely acknowledgment of contributions, maintaining accurate records, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Assist in event planning, including logistics for fundraising events, donor appreciation events, and campaign milestone celebrations.
- In conjunction with the Marketing department , create compelling donor materials, including solicitation letters, stewardship reports, and campaign updates.
- Maintain detailed records of donor activities and campaign progress in alignment with organizational goals.
- Provide administrative support to the Capital Campaign Chair and Committee, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and documenting minutes.
- Support grant writing and research efforts to secure additional funding opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned
