Spend an incredible summer working with kids at Camp Zeke! Camp Zeke celebrates joyful Judaism and healthy, active living through whole foods, sports, fitness and culinary arts! We are located on 560 serene acres in Northeastern, PA and have campers ages 7-17. The dates for this position are June 16, 2025, until August 10, 2025, with some flexibility in the start date for full-time teachers. 

 

Health Center Manager for Overnight Camp in Northeastern, PA Responsibilities:

I. Health Center Management

The infirmary manager will be responsible for the overall organization and management of the Camp Zeke Infirmary.
· Work with the Camp’s facility team to schedule regular cleaning and sanitizing of the building, including treatment rooms and patient bedrooms.
· Maintain all supplies and equipment and keep stock of all first aid supplies and other over the counter medications and items.
· Organize and supervise twice daily “sick call” for campers and staff.
· Oversee time off rotation for the medical team to ensure that everyone has adequate rest and breaks, while ensuring that the infirmary is always properly staffed.

II. Medication Management
· Assist nurses to keep all medications organized, locked and secured in the health center.
· Assist as needed with dispensing Rx medication as prescribed and PRN medication as needed to campers and staff.
· Call the local drug store to fill and refill prescriptions as necessary.
· Assist nurse to chart all administered medication.
· Ensure we have EpiPens in all main buildings of camp.
· Create and distribute first aid kits around camp and ensure they stay full throughout the summer – checking each one on a regular schedule.

III. Record Keeping
· Learn the details of Camp Minder’s online record keeping tools, and use the system to document everything that happens in the infirmary throughout the summer. Be prepared to train nurses and other infirmary staff on Campminder once camp starts.
· Maintain meticulous notes on each camper in Campminder and learn Camp Minder’s online medical record system. Track why the camper came in, the time and reason for every doctor’s visit, and any conversations with parents, etc. We should have a full record of every camper’s interactions with the infirmary after camp ends.
· Ensure every camper and staff member has an accurate and complete health record on file.
· Assist nurse with maintaining Daily Medication Record for every person that receives Rx and PRN medication.

IV. Staff Orientation
· Provide orientation sessions to camp staff about how the infirmary/health center runs and about sick calls.

V. Opening/Closing Days
· Assist nurses to intake of all medication.
· Assist with a health screen of all campers.
· Return unused medication to campers on closing day.

VI. Communication
· Email camper care team twice-daily updates about (1) any camper or staff medical issue from that day (not counting minor scrapes and the like); (2) any camper or staff likely staying in the infirmary that night; (3) any parents that were called and why.
· Communicate with parents throughout the summer with a focus on providing the highest possible level of customer service.

Qualifications and Skills:

Health Center Manager For Overnight Camp in Northeastern, PA Requirements:

  • Strong background in administration. Medical background or medical administration is helpful.
  • Available to work and live on our camp from June 16 – August 10. Longer contracts are available for extended work. Must be available to live onsite for the full length of the contract.
  • Extremely organized, with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service, phone, and writing skills.
  • Enthusiastic, motivated attitude.
  • Passion for summer camp and working with kids.
