The Westchester division of UJA-Federation works with donors, community leaders, and local nonprofits in support our mission to care for people in need, respond to crises close to home and far away, and shape the Jewish future. The Director is responsible for creation, implementation and oversight and is a member of the Westchester senior management team that develops strategy for the Westchester region, consistent with UJA’s mission and priorities. 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Be part of the Westchester management team that develops overall strategy for the region beyond their assignments.  
  • Oversee the analytics of the Westchester campaign, providing insights into the data that helps to move the campaign forward.
  • Work closely with Capital Gifts/ Special Initiatives and Planned Giving & Endowments departments to help fundraisers identify prospects for giving in these key areas.  
  • Oversee strategies for increasing the donor pool and deepening donor giving and engagement. 
  • Directly supervise members of the fundraising staff.
  • Help oversee community campaigns and regional events as needed.

Skills/Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. 
  • 5 – 10 years’ experience in Jewish communal work or related not-for-profit sector. 
  • Must possess a strong personal presence and have outstanding relationship building skills. 
  • Passion for UJA-Federation’s mission. 
  • Ability to build strong and genuine relationships with donors, as well as colleagues within and outside of UJA. 
  • Effective and supportive communicator, able to inspire and influence, and to build credibility and rapport. 
  • The ability to impart knowledge, develop skills and mentor staff. 
  • Sound judgment, problem-solving and thoughtful decision-making. 
  • Strong management skills and ability to be part of a positive team environment. 
  • Incredibly resourceful - strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically
  • Must be creative and innovative. 
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially the art of listening. 
  • Strong communication skills with multiple stakeholders including colleagues and lay leadership. 
  • Comfortable with use of technology and effective use of databases and systems. 

Salary Information:

The salary range for this role is $120,000 to $130,000; commensurate with experience and qualifications listed above.

TIME OFF

We offer a generous number of vacation days and have the Jewish holidays off as well. Fridays our offices close early (October to March at 3:00 pm and April to September at 4:00 pm). All so you can relax and recharge.
