Job Description – Rabbi (Kol Bo) Temple Ner Tamid Peabody

Temple Ner Tamid in Peabody MA is looking to hire a full time Rabbi (Kol Bo) as our primary spiritual leader for its thriving Conservative Jewish congregation.  The ideal candidate would have established pulpit experience, good interpersonal skills, be pastoral and have a desire to build a long-term presence as a teacher and role model.  

 

  • Must be an ordained Rabbi
  • Act as the Marata D'Atra and spiritual leader of the Conservative Synagogue and its Congregants to render Halachic decisions
  • Ability to lead services; Baal Tefilah is desirable
  • Pulpit experience is preferred
  • Reading from the Torah is preferred/knowledgeable in Torah and Haftarah Trope
  • Deliver sermons on Shabbat/and Yom Tovim
  • Serve the religious, educational, spiritual, and pastoral needs of the membership of the synagogue
  • Visit/communicate with congregants in need
  • Support lay led daily and shiva minyanim as necessary
  • Provide training for B’nai Mitzvah
  • Lead Holiday/High Holy Day services
  • Work with the Religious School Committee, or their designee, by advising on curriculum, suggesting programs, and interacting with students
  • Consult and participate in the selection of all professional and executive personnel employed or retained by the Synagogue
  • Serve as the consultant and the guide of the Ritual Committee
  • Attend meetings of the various committees
  • Attend Board Meetings of the Temple and deliver D’vrei Torah
  • Perform lifecycle events and ceremonies as needed
  • Maintain, establish, and encourage communication with all demographics of the Temple membership
  • Establish and maintain a relationship in the community at large on behalf of the Synagogue
  • Participate in the Peabody Clergy Ministerial Association (PCMA)
  • Participate in the North Shore Rabbis and Cantors Association (NSRCA)
  • Support Synagogue events, values, and traditions
  • Be willing to reside in the local community

Salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience
