ALYN Hospital is acknowledged worldwide as a premier hospital specializing in pediatric rehabilitation. It is the only facility of its kind in Israel. ALYN’s reputation in diagnosing and rehabilitating infants, children and adolescents with physical disabilities, both congenital and acquired, is meticulous. The children treated at ALYN come from Israel and abroad. The hospital welcomes all patients regardless of religion or nationality.
ALYN is fortunate to have a multidisciplinary team providing a wide range of medical services, paramedical therapies and additional state-of-the-art rehabilitation services. ALYN’s various departments and services include: the Rehabilitation Department, the Day Hospitalization Rehabilitation Department, the Respiratory Rehabilitation Department, Multidisciplinary Outpatient Clinics, the Shachar Rehabilitation Educational and Medical Daycare Facility, incorporating infant, kindergarten and school classes, The Skill Building Center, Maslul – the Dyna and Fala Weinstock Therapeutic Sports Center and the Legacy Heritage Independent Living Neighborhood for Ventilator-Assisted Young Adults. In addition, ALYN is a center of research and teaching for professionals training in the field of pediatric rehabilitation.
Canadian Friends of ALYN Hospital
As a registered charity in Canada since 1978, the Canadian arm promotes the work of ALYN Hospital and raises funds for its important work as the only facility of its kind in Israel and the Middle East. Each year, thousands of children with disabilities and their families come through the doors of ALYN Hospital seeking hope, support, and outstanding care.
Canadian Friends of ALYN is governed by a Board of Directors, which currently meets annually. The organization currently raises funds from events but will grow to incorporate donations from private individuals and foundations, and corporations. It is now growing its Canadian presence.
The Director of Development (DoD) is a new position responsible for growing Canadian Friends of ALYN’s presence in Canada, expanding ALYN’s Canadian charitable support by building relationships, and raising funds for ALYN Hospital in Jerusalem. Reporting to the Executive Director in Israel, the DoD will act as the key fundraiser for Canadian Friends of ALYN, will primarily work remotely and will be available for occasional national and international travel (1 – 2 trips annually).
What you Bring to the Role:
- 7 – 10 years of senior fundraising and operational experience
- A successful track record of securing major gifts at the 6-figure range; a strong relationship builder who focuses on the end goal of raising money
- Demonstrated understanding and track record of building a robust fund development program from the ground up
- Experience in pipeline development, prospect review and qualification, proposal development, successful cultivation and solicitation
- You are a self-starter and are driven by You have an entrepreneurial approach to fundraising, finding and creating new opportunities.
- Proven track record of starting and developing relationships with major donors
- Ideally, you have a connection to Israel
- Experience working successfully with a national Board of Directors
- Excellent communication that creates clarity, inspires, and builds confidence
- Flexible and adaptable to changing conditions
- Education
- University Degree, College Diploma or equivalent experience and education
- Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) considered an asset
