The Next Step is the sole organization in the Jewish world dedicated to providing comprehensive support, in Israel, to children and adults suffering from limb-loss; through an array of programs and services that provide social, emotional and financial support, along with advocacy and lobbying for better prosthetic care.

Key Responsibilities

The Vice President of Development will manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects and be responsible for all The Next Step donor-centric comprehensive development programs, including individual major gifts, annual appeals, special campaigns, institutional grants (foundations, corporations, government entities), planned giving, and planned capital campaigns.

  • Implement and oversee fundraising; best practices for donor identification; cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and reporting; development and facilitation of all aspects of fundraising appeals, events, grants and grant reporting.
  • Work closely with all departments on recruiting new donors, sponsors, and the retention of existing donors. He/she will be gatekeeper and leader of the large donor program, implementing the major donor moves management pipeline and being the top major donor solicitor, in partnership with the Executive Director.
  • The position works closely with the leadership team on fundraising goals and keeps team members up to date on donor, grant, and annual goals. 
  • He/she is also responsible for the engagement of the board of directors in fundraising
  • Develop compelling funding proposals and impact reports for donors and foundations.
  • Utilize The Next Step’s fundraising software, NeonOne, to track donor interactions, maintain accurate records, and analyze fundraising metrics.
  • In the future, hires, directs, coaches, and supervises anywhere from a 2-4-person Development team.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who possesses a unique blend of donor relations/fundraising, finance and grants management experience and has a passion for Israel’s Health issues and The Next Step’s mission.

  • 10+ years of Senior level fundraising experience, with a proven track record of closing major gifts.
  • Deep understanding of the philanthropic Jewish community
  • Excellence in relationship-building and strategic networking
  • Written and verbal communication skills
Salary175,000.00 - 200,000.00 Annual
