About the Position:
The Shefa School is seeking a Full-Time Hebrew Teacher for September 2025 to teach in the
Lower and Middle School.
Key Responsibilities:
The Hebrew Teacher will be responsible for developing curriculum and teaching Hebrew to
English-speaking students with language-based learning disabilities. The emphasis of Hebrew
instruction at Shefa is on reading and comprehending text with the goal of enabling students to
ultimately access traditional Jewish texts. In addition to developing curriculum and delivering
instruction, the Hebrew teacher will be responsible for assessing student learning, managing
classroom routines and behavior, building relationships and communicating regularly with
families, and collaborating with other faculty.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a native or near-native level of fluency in Hebrew, depth of training
and expertise in literacy and the Science of Reading, and experience using multisensory Orton-
Gillingham instruction and in working with students with language-based learning disabilities.
Candidates should demonstrate flexibility and comfort with risk-taking and ambiguity. We seek
