Description

TEPV is seeking a part-time Youth Engagement Associate for our Kadima youth group and SULAM teen program, and staffing for the school office on SUnday mornings when school is in session. A successful candidate will have experience working with pre/teens, and be a responsible chaperone and communicator with participants, parents and staff. The Associate will work under the supervision and guidance of the Education Director, to

  • Assist with planning and chaperoning events
  • Provide light administrative and logistical support
  • Assist with publicity and maintaining communication with students and families
  • Help with recruiting and developing tweens and teens as participants

Qualifications:

  • Experience in an educational Jewish youth environment or relevant field

  • Maintain a positive demeanor, adaptability, and sense for collaborative work

Youth Group Responsibilities:
Assist with the planning and chaperoning of social, religious, and experiential initiatives tailored to the needs of:

    • Grades 5-7 Kadima Youth Group (4-5 events per year)
    • Grades 8-12 Sulam Teen Program (4-5 events per year)
  • Oversee teen youth group board meetings (approximately 5 per year); manage the teen board and facilitate help ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • Mentor and empower teenage leaders, nurturing their growth in program design and implementation
  • Help facilitate and chaperone 3 lunch-and-learn leadership activities for the madrichim (teen Hebrew School aides) over the year
  • Cultivate strong rapport with Youth Group members and encourage their active participation
  • Support communication and marketing efforts, including social media, email correspondence, flier distribution, and communication with students and families
  • Assist with planning, scheduling, or setup for youth programs
  • General Job Expectations:
  • Compliance with and attentiveness to health, safety, and security protocols to ensure the well-being of all participants
  • Availability to chaperone events on various weeknights and weekends
  • Clear and proper communication with youth and their families
  • Creating a fun, engaging, welcoming and safe environment
  • Flexibility to fulfill reasonable job-related tasks as needed

School Office – Sundays 9:30am-12:30pm 

  • Answer phones and take messages as needed
  • Greet students, families and visitors
  • Be available to help teachers or students who may need Band-Aids, water, or office supplies
  • Assist Director with arrival and dismissal procedures and related administrative items (e.g. distributing teacher memos or photocopies)
  • Oversee teen madrichim (aides) as they sign in and complete their assigned tasks

 

Total Compensation: $25/hour
