Position Overview
Sefaria is seeking a Community Giving Coordinator to help support our efforts to raise funds from and steward our online learning community. We are looking for a creative and independent person to grow and manage our donation and fundraising programs. This is a full time, remote US position. Applicants must live in a US Central or Eastern time zone.
Reporting to the Director of Development, the Community Giving Coordinator will be the point person in developing and executing approximately 4-6 fundraising campaigns annually for Jewish and secular holidays and key Sefaria milestones.
We are searching for a strong writer and story-teller who can leverage metrics and analytics to develop compelling fundraising initiatives. This role will involve content creation, project management, analyzing trends in giving and user engagement, and liaising effectively with various teams (Marketing and Communications, Engineering) and consultants. The person in this role will also use development and marketing tools, like Salesforce and ActiveCampaign and to maintain up-to-date knowledge of digital fundraising best practices.
In this position, you will:
Campaigns and Community Giving
- Work with the Development Team and consultants to create and execute an annual, multi-channel plan for community fundraising that leverages best-in-class digital fundraising and marketing tactics.
- Create narrative arcs and strategies for 4-6 mass campaigns annually, including writing and editing original content.
- Manage campaign materials, including email, mail, in-product messaging, paid ads, and social media.
- Work with the Director of Development and Development Coordinator to create campaign goals and benchmarks related to revenue, donor retention and stewardship, number of donors, and more.
- Manage and grow Sefaria's monthly giving program.
- Identify opportunities for effective donor stewardship.
- Manage Sefaria's donation help desk and connect with donors 1:1 as needed.
- Maintain Sefaria's static fundraising language on website and app.
- Identify and proactively explore new opportunities for fundraising, maintain an up-to-date knowledge of trends in digital fundraising and marketing.
General Fundraising Support
- Prepare and send acknowledgement letters.
- Assist with gift entry, including processing check and wire donations, as needed.
- Support other fundraising efforts as needed (events, major donor projects, etc.).

Experience, qualifications, and requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field.
- At least 2-4 years of relevant work experience, ideally in fundraising or marketing.
- Knowledgeable about contemporary Jewish communities and Jewish traditions; able to develop content that speaks to diverse audiences.
- Experience with Salesforce, Classy, and/or ActiveCampaign, preferred.
- Experience using data to develop and improve engagement initiatives.
- Strong persuasive writing and communication skills. Formal writing and editing experience is preferred.
Compensation
- The annual salary range for this position is $62,000-66,000
- Sefaria offers six comprehensive medical insurance options, three of which are covered 100% by Sefaria for employees
