Position:

Jewish National Fund-USA seeks a Director with a proven track record in sales, investor or donor relations, and campaign growth. The position will be responsible for a portfolio in select markets throughout the Tristate region. This role will report to our Executive Director, Tristate and will be based out of our New York City office.

 

The successful candidate must be an experienced professional who is a "go-getter" and must combine sophisticated leadership with an entrepreneurial spirit. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, results-oriented, positive, and have a clear passion for Jewish National Fund-USA's mission and Israel.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Face-to-face meetings for solicitation, cultivation, and recognition of donors, both new and prospective. Please note that face-to-face solicitations will be the main part of your position and should encompass the majority of your time.
  • Have introductory communications with all donors in your portfolio.
  • Have a portfolio which may include managing committees and affinity groups including Lawyers for Israel, Doctors for Israel, Finance for Israel and others, in coordination with local and regional lay leadership.
  • Identify and develop major gifts and new donor prospects.
  • Help to grow the local boards in the Tri-State Region.
  • Work closely with key lay leaders, on and off the boards, to empower them to help you grow the campaign.
  • Utilize Jewish National Fund-USA's Salesforce database to manage and track donor relationships.
  • Host Israeli affiliates and arrange for them to meet with appropriate donors and donor prospects.
  • Develop fundraising events such as Dinners, parlor meetings, virtual meetings with our affiliates in Israel, and more.
  • Recruit participants for trips to Israel and attendees for the Jewish National Fund-USA Global Conference for Israel.
  • You will be expected to attend meetings and events which also take place in the evening and/or weekends.
  • Travel within the US and internationally, which may include Missions to Israel, Jewish National Fund-USA Global Conference for Israel, and Staff Conference
  • Any other duties that your supervisor may assign to you.

 

Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of experience in fundraising, or proven sales experience in a client driven business
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks at the same time. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, as well as an interest in advancing the organizations fundraising goals
  • Strong communication skills including experience in presenting and public speaking
  • Knowledge of the Jewish Community in your region
  • Strong understanding of donor research, identification, cultivation and solicitation, and stewardship.
  • A flexible and creative thinker that can find and create new giving opportunities for programs.
  • Experience with Salesforce preferred or similar data management systems
  • Candidates must have a valid US driver's license, access to a car and personal credit card to use for travel (documented expenses are reimbursed per company policy)
