We are a modern, Reform congregation, seeking a dynamic part-time Rabbi to start in July (2025/5785), to succeed our long-time rabbi who is retiring.
-Rabbi will be expected to: conduct Friday evening Shabbat services every week (2x per month in person with our cantorial team); 2x per month solely on Zoom.
For the Zoom services, Rabbi arranges participants and updates the PPT slides.
-Schedule and lead quarterly Shabbat morning services, as well as B’nai Mitzvah (we currently have 3-4 a year), and an occasional special educational or holiday event.
-Officiate at the High Holy Day services, Erev RH, RH morning (1 day only), Erev YK, YK morning, + Minchah, Yizkor, Neilah.
-Lead community Seder.
-Oversee B’nai Mitzvah students- work with them to make sure they are ready to chant the prayers and read their Torah/ Haftarah portions.
-Lead the T’fillot for 20-30 minutes on Sunday mornings with the Religious School students.
-Officiate life-cycle events as needed.
-Create and implement Adult Ed. programs of interest such as Beginning Hebrew/ prayers, Aspects of Jewish History, How to Trope, .....
-We are a heimish community of 85 families, with an active Sisterhood, small Religious School, Teen program, and lots of potential.
The position could entail other roles based on the interest and experience of the candidate.
-A good fit for our community is someone who sees themselves as flexible, personable, kind and inclusive. We are a “purple” congregation, working toward creating positive Jewish life and experiences, doing social action projects, but leaving political differences aside.
