The Jewish Funders Network works with Jewish philanthropists at the individual and collective levels to improve the quality of their giving. The Data Specialist will be trained and supervised by the Senior Manager of Database and Grants. Throughout the project, the Data Specialist will undertake several data projects for the Membership Department, using interpersonal skills and resourcefulness to research, engage with, and satisfy members. The specialist will be provided with the opportunity to develop skills related to project management, organization, research and data analysis, database enhancement, customer service, and communication.

Specific tasks and functions of the role:

The specialist will perform the following data functions:

  • Researching data sources to verify and update constituent records, including biographical data and contact information.
  • Manually inputting and batch updating member data from surveys, Excel spreadsheets, and application forms using standardized formats.
  • Assisting with special data hygiene projects to enhance analysis and accurate reporting.
  • Helping perform regular data audits for quality and accuracy, including  deleting duplicate and outdated or irrelevant data.
  • Interacting and engaging with members to verify and collect personal information, such as funding interests, to ensure completeness of their records.  
  • Researching prospects and collecting member biographical data using public information  and direct contact with members.
  • Utilizing the database to organize, track, and document member interactions and information. 
  • Provide administrative support, such as scheduling calls and documenting member outreach on Monday (project management tool) boards as needed.

Qualifications/Preferred Skills:

  • Basic understanding and comfort with a variety of CRMs and Content Management Platforms.
  • Familiarity with YourMembership or other MMS preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Excel, Word and Outlook as well as Google Sheets.
  • Good typing and data entry experience is preferred.
  • Resourcefulness; the ability to research and collect data in a timely fashion.
  • A keen eye, strong level of concentration, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively as needed via phone, zoom, and email.
  • Exhibit professional, courteous behavior; polite persistence; problem-solving skills, as well as a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Prior experience in customer service or related field is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Job Type: Temporary [part-time] and remote

Work Schedule: 16 hours a week (2 days per week) for 6 weeks

Remuneration: $3,000
