The Judaic Studies Academic Operations Assistant works closely to support the Principals in directing the academic program of the Day School. As a key member of the support staff, the Assistant reports directly to the Director of Operations and works collaboratively with other administrative support staff to help ensure that the academic departments of the school run smoothly. The position is assigned a 12-month work schedule. 

Specific areas of responsibility include:

  • Manage the calendar, and help schedule meetings for the Judaic Studies Principal
  • Coordinate and support class celebrations and school-wide events
  • Support the purchase or textbooks, class materials and supplies
  • Document ongoing purchases, reimbursement forms and PDs
  • Assist with the Title II and Title IV funds applications and process
  • Create, format and share faculty bulletin on weekly basis
  • Support Principals’ communication with faculty and parents, including Email, Blackbaud, and Parent Square
  • Work with the Director of Operations to ensure that all room reservations and setups are entered into SchoolDude, our event management system.
  • Work with the General Studies AOA to organize and coordinate snacks/meals for staff meetings and Professional Development Days
  • Create, edit and format google documents, sheets, surveys, etc. to support Principal’s work    
  • Direct and facilitate coverage needs in coordination with the Director of Operations and Assistant Principals 
  • Call Scoot Education and/or other substitutes as necessary
  • Support and coordinate Judaic Studies field trips 
  • Help track and ensure the completion of faculty assignments, including report cards.  
  • Work in tandem with the General Studies AOA in executing office reception, including the following tasks:
    • Answer phones with a positive, warm, and welcoming attitude, transferring calls as necessary or taking messages
    • Welcome parents, teachers, and visitors who come to the school office.  
    • Daily attendance tracking
    • Call parents, as needed, for administrative items (i.e. missing lunches)
  • Other temporary duties and responsibilities as delegated by the supervisors

 

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Previous experience in an academic setting or related field is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and software applications relevant to the role.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
Salary60,000.00 - 70,000.00 Annual
