Bay Terrace Garden Jewish Center

Bay Terrace, New York

Part Time/Year-Round Position

The Bay Terrace Garden Jewish Center is seeking an inspiring and compassionate Rabbi to be a strong leader of our traditional conservative synagogue of over 100 households. This role offers the opportunity to foster connection, growth, and Jewish traditions in this long-standing ‘Shul by the Bay.’ Established in 1960, BTGJC is the only well-established independent synagogue in the area that provides weekly Jewish religious services.

About Bay Terrace Garden Jewish Center

BTGJC is a very welcoming and friendly congregation that fosters Jewish traditions through meaningful spiritual and social experiences. We encourage volunteerism and community engagement. Once a thriving congregation, BTGJC is trying to reinvigorate ourselves and grow our congregation once again. Our large beautiful sanctuary and ballroom present many possibilities for spiritual and social events.

About Bay Terrace

Centrally located in Northeast Queens, Bay Terrace is considered a safe and mostly residential community, with easy access to transportation. It is noted for its stunning views of the Long Island Sound and Throgs Neck Bridge, visible from outside of the synagogue. Bay Terrace is also conveniently located between several very active Jewish neighborhoods.

  • A warm and approachable person who meets and greets current and prospective members during or after services.
  • A Rabbi with excellent pastoral skills, available to our membership during life cycle events.
