Salary: Up to $150,000 | Generous PTO & Jewish Holiday Observance

Are you an accomplished fundraising leader with a passion for healthcare and a deep understanding of Jewish cultural values? We’re seeking an innovative and strategic Director of Development to lead transformative philanthropy for a nonprofit organization on the cutting edge of medical research and patient advocacy.

As a critical member of the leadership team, you’ll shape and grow fundraising programs, connect deeply with a diverse community of donors, providers, and patients, and help expand the organization’s ability to support families navigating the complexities of rare and complex medical conditions.

About Us

We are a unique nonprofit organization committed to providing exceptional medical care and comprehensive support for individuals battling rare and complex health disorders. With an international network of renowned researchers, doctors, and medical institutions, we offer unparalleled resources to help patients and families access life-saving treatments, manage financial complexities, and travel to top healthcare facilities. Our mission is to give hope when hope feels impossible.

What You’ll Do

Lead & Expand Fundraising Programs:

Guide our fundraising strategy, growing our successful Grateful Patient Program into a robust, year- round initiative that elevates giving and deepens donor relationships. Collaborate closely with clinical teams to identify patients whose lives have been positively impacted by our services, transforming their gratitude into sustainable support for our mission.

Foster Meaningful Relationships Across Cultures:

Navigate the cultural and religious nuances of the organization’s Orthodox Jewish roots while connecting with a broad spectrum of individuals from diverse Jewish backgrounds, non-Jewish communities, and secular populations. Build strong, respectful relationships that foster trust and lead to long-term philanthropic partnerships.

Major Gift Cultivation & Stewardship:

Develop and manage a portfolio of high-potential donors, ensuring personalized and impactful engagement to secure major and principal gifts. Oversee a donor stewardship program that emphasizes recognition, impact reporting, and long-lasting relationships that fuel our mission.

Drive Results Through Metrics & Insights:

Utilize data-driven strategies to track fundraising progress, identify new opportunities, and report on key performance indicators. Your insights will help shape fundraising strategies that consistently exceed expectations and advance our patient-centered mission.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a seasoned fundraising professional with a deep commitment to healthcare, cultural sensitivity, and a passion for making a difference in the lives of patients and families facing medical crises.

Key Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required (preferred fields: Nonprofit Management, Healthcare, Business Administration).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in fundraising with proven success in major gift solicitation, ideally in healthcare or medical organizations.
  • Cultural Awareness: Strong understanding of Orthodox Jewish practices, values, and traditions, with the ability to navigate and engage diverse communities respectfully.
  • Leadership & Strategy: Strong project management, team leadership, and communication skills with a results-driven mindset.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in donor management systems, CRM tools, and data analysis for reporting and strategy refinement.
  • Empathy & Collaboration: A patient-centered, empathetic approach to both fundraising and donor relations, with a passion for collaboration.

What We Offer

  • Hybrid Work Structure: Work onsite 1 day per week in our Brooklyn office with occasional travel for meetings with philanthropists and key stakeholders.
  • Generous PTO Policy: Including observance of Jewish holidays.
  • Salary: Competitive salary up to $150,000, based on experience.

This is more than just a job – it’s an opportunity to play a pivotal role in an organization that is saving lives and supporting families through some of their most challenging moments. If you are a visionary leader with the experience, cultural sensitivity, and passion to drive fundraising success, we’d love to hear from you!

Join us in making an extraordinary difference for patients and families facing some of the most complex and challenging medical crises. Your expertise will help us provide hope in the most impossible places.
