Role Overview

Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach is seeking thoughtful, creative, and experienced candidates for its next Associate Director. The Associate Director is a key member of the senior professional team responsible for implementing Hillel’s strategic vision of Jewish life on campus. This person works closely with the Executive Director and all Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach staff and is responsible for oversight of student-facing programming and engagement across five campuses. The Associate Director manages the programming budget, is responsible for implementing the engagement strategy, managing the student life team, and supporting staff.

What You’ll Do

Management

  • Develop and implement the strategic vision for programming and engagement across all five campuses
  • Lead the Student Life Team, facilitate regular programming staff meetings, and allocate staff resources to programs effectively
  • Manage the program budget, track engagement metrics, and ensure the team meets engagement goals
  • Oversee hiring and review processes for all programming and engagement staff

Inspiring Jewish Life & Israel Education

  • Work closely with the programming team to create enriching Jewish life programs
  • Mentor student leaders, fostering meaningful Jewish experiences
  • Facilitate and direct outreach efforts to engage new Jewish students
  • Support Israel education and programming, including oversight of immersive experiences such as Birthright
  • Develop new programming for graduate students

Stakeholder and Community Relations

  • Cultivate strong relationships with senior level university officials and faculty
  • Advocate for the inclusion and support of Jewish students' safety and well-being
  • Represent Hillel to prospective families, community members, and administration

Advancement

  • Work in collaboration with the Advancement Team to solicit parents and alumni
  • Partner in the grant writing process, including presenting at funder forums
  • Integrate corporate and individual fundraising into programming initiatives

What You’ll Bring to the Job

  • 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Strong understanding of Jewish culture and religious competency
  • Strong Management experience of early career professionals
  • Experience in program/event planning, with acute attention to detail 
  • Familiarity with grant writing and donor communications

What You’ll Receive

  • Competitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace. The salary range for this role is $75,000-95,000
