General Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable individual who is passionate about leveraging technology to enhance the educational experience. The School System Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining the IT infrastructure within 4 school locations. This dynamic role involves ensuring the seamless integration and operation of all technological systems, including networking, wireless technology, and various software platforms. The candidate will play a critical role in supporting the educational goals of the institution by providing reliable and innovative IT solutions. This role is primarily based in multiple locations in Brooklyn, but will also require some travel and time spent in a Long Island facility.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The School System Administrator will be tasked with a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:
Network Management
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining the school's network infrastructure, including both wired and wireless networks.
- Monitoring network performance and security, identifying potential issues, and applying necessary updates and patches.
- Managing Meraki firewalls, switches, and other networking hardware to ensure optimal performance and security.
Hardware and Software and Application Support
- Administering and supporting Intune student laptop enrollment, Google Classrooms, and security software to facilitate smooth classroom operations.
- Administering users and applications in OKTA, Azure AD and Google.
- Administering JotIt tablets, iPads, laptops, and other devices.
- Providing technical support for students on various software applications.
- Ensuring all software is up-to-date and compliant with licensing agreements and educational standards.
- Purchasing and maintaining educational software and hardware, including Smart Boards, laptops, and tablets.
- Regularly reviewing and enhancing cybersecurity measures to safeguard against potential threats.
System Maintenance and Troubleshooting
- Performing regular maintenance on all school-based IT systems, and other IT equipment.
- Troubleshooting hardware and software issues, providing timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Collaborating with external vendors and service providers when necessary to resolve complex technical issues.
On-Site Support
- Being on-site at least four days a week to address any immediate IT concerns and provide hands-on assistance.
- Conducting regular IT audits and assessments to ensure the continuous improvement of the school's technology environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in networking and wireless technology.
- Hands on familiarity with Windows 10, Azure AD, Google Classroom, OKTA, and Chromebooks.
- Self-motivated, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with staff, students, and external vendors.
- Willingness to travel to both
Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position is between $85,000 and $120,000, commensurate with experience.
